She's a good girl, crazy 'bout Elvis....

Marlise Kiel was one a seven Kryptonite Girls in action across the country and truly had a special weekend at the Steel City Open in Pittsburgh, PA. She tallied some impressive results and captured the MVP award. "Mojo" won both Ladies Singles titles, Mixed Triples and Ladies Doubles Cricket. She also finished Top 4 in Mixed Doubles 501 and Open 301. And yes, she is crazy about Elvis.

Paula Murphy was playing for the first time after the passing of her husband Bill. They celebrated his life at an Irish Wake on Saturday and she got a chance to play a few events in the Seminole Shootout in Tallahassee, FL. Paula was able to win 501 Singles and finish 2nd in Mixed Doubles 501.

Lora Josey helped her Wilmington, NC teammates to a 20-4 victory over Raleigh in North Carolina State Cup play. She was undefeated in the match. Lora is also proud to announce a partnership with Legend Brewing Company of Richmond, VA. This local microbrewery is an area favorite and are glad to work with Lora to help support her charity, the Wounded Warrior Project.

Jennifer Carlton was in Monroe, Ga at the Shoot for the Cure tournament, making her first appearance since she injured the knee earlier this year. She
played well and finished 2nd in Doubles Cricket and Top 4 in Doubles 501 and Singles 501. She wore down as the weekend progressed but was nonetheless happy with her results after such a long layoff. Bette Cunningham was also competing in a local singles event this weekend working her way back from knee surgery.

Out on the West Coast, Shannon Vitale won 1st place in 501 Singles and 2nd place in Mixed Triples at the legendary Royal Hawaiian Tournament in California. Corrine Stockton was winning a local ADO Qualifier and helping with a Adult/Youth event.

Myrtle Beach Days, we'll have some fun in the waves...

This October, the Ghost on the Coast in Myrtle Beach, SC will host the ADO's America's Cup National Playoff over the Halloween weekend. It will be the first time hosting a National for this wildly popular tournament held on the South Carolina coast. This weekend, a few of the Kryptonite Girls were attending Qualifiers, trying to earn a spot for the event.

In Massachusetts, Kirsten McCandless and Bette Cunningham were competing in the ADO Area 5-1 National Qualifier. Kirsten played well throughout the day and survived a tough field of talented players to win the event and punch her ticket. It will be her 3rd National Playoff and 2nd in a row and she joins fellow K-Girls Sandy Hudson and Corrine Stockton in the National. Bette Cunningham was also there working her way back into top form after her double knee replacement surgery. Bette came up a bit short on this day, another day along her long road to recovery.

Shannon Vitale was in California at the ADO's Area 2-2 National Qualifier and Candi Ellis was in Myrtle Beach at the ADO's Area 4-3 National Qualifier and they both came up a little short of their goal. Myrtle Beach was also hosting the first YODA's Do or Do Not tournament in which Candi finished 1st in the Mixed Doubles 501 event and was Top 4 in 501 Singles.

Sandy Haas was the only other player in action, she was giving back in a local benefit tournament in Chattanooga, TN.

Uptown Funk you up, Uptown Funk you up...

Summer 2015 continues to scorch the country and the Kryptonite Girls have been out on the road, doing what they do, coming soon to a town near you. Two weeks ago only 2 girls were competing. Kay Hoover was in Florence, KY at the Summer Slam where she finished 1st in the Ladies Doubles Combo and 2nd in Singles 501.

Corrine Stockton started her long journey across country with a stop in St. Louis, MO on the CDC Tour where she was the only female competing against some of the country's best players. She lost in the 2nd round on Saturday and the 1st round on Sunday. From there she drove to the East Coast making stops along the way to visit family and do some sight seeing on her way to Stamford, CT and the ADO National 501 Championship and East/West All-Star event, hosted by the USA Dart Classic.

There she meet up with fellow K-Girls Marlise Kiel, Shannon Vitale, Candra Archbold, Bette Cunningham, Sandy Haas, Kay Hoover, Candi Ellis and Kirsten McCandless, the largest group of K-Girls ever assembled for an ADO National Playoff. Sadly, we were missing Paula Murphy, the defending Champion. Her longtime spouse Bill Murphy passed away last week. Bill was a great guy and will be deeply missed by our dart community. The entire Kryptonite Girls family is deeply saddened and sends our love and prayers out to the Murphy family.

Marlise reached the finals of Friday's National, coming up a little short and finishing 2nd Place. She would rebound the next day to capture the
Ladies Singles 501 title in this WDF and BDO ranked event. She also finished 2nd in Mixed doubles 501 and Top 4 in Doubles Cricket. She traveled down from Ohio with Kay Hoover who would finish Top 16 in the Nationals, and in both Ladies Singles events. Kay also earned Top 8 in Doubles Cricket.

The South Carolina girls had a nice weekend indeed. Candra finished Top 4 in the Nationals, equalling a career high. She was also 2nd Doubles 501, Top 4 in Mixed Doubles 501, Top 8 in Mixed Triples, Top 16 in Doubles Cricket and Top 16 in Cricket Singles. Candi finished Top 8 in the National and picked up a Top 16 in Doubles Cricket. Sandy Haas teamed with Candra to finish 2nd in 501 Doubles and Top 16 in Doubles Cricket. Sandy was Top 8 in Singles Cricket and finished Top 4 in the National 501 Championship on Friday. This is her highest finish in an ADO National playoff.

The California Girls and Massachusetts Girls were on hand as well. Corrine and Shannon both finished Top 16 in the Nationals. They teamed up to finish Top 8 in Doubles Cricket and Top 16 in 501 Doubles. Shannon also earned Top 8 in Mixed Triples.

Kirsten finished Top 8 in the Nationals despite being nervous for her daughter Hannah who reached Top 8 of the ADO Youth National Championship. Kirsten also finished Top 16 in Cricket Singles and Ladies Doubles 501. Bette Cunningham was back competing in her first major event since double knee replacement surgery three months ago. She was a little slower but twice as tough to play and she made a strong run in the nationals finishing round robin play as the #2 seed before finishing Top 16. Bette was just happy to be back and earned a Top 8 in Mixed Triples along with a pair of Top 16's in 501 Singles and Mixed Doubles 501. Pam Briggs was also on hand for the tournament, she earned a Top 4 in Mixed Triples, and Top 8 in Doubles 501 and Mixed Doubles 501. She was Top 16 in 501 Singles.

Gloria Gutierrez ended a long break and come up from the Big Apple to compete which raised the number to 11 K-Girls. Gloria was Top 32 in 501 Singles. Meanwhile down in South Carolina, Sandy Hudson was joining her fellow Greater Greenville Dart Girls and defended their NC/SC Ladies Challenge Cup 21-3 over the talented Pineville, NC ladies team.
