Friday got started with the ADO National Masters Playoffs with 4 K-Girls in the field competing for their spot on the American team in England later this year. Sandy Hudson and Marlise Kiel made in through their bracket to reach the Finals, while Bette Cunningham and Morgan McCormack came up a little short in their bracket. Sandy would go on tho win the Playoff dropping only one leg in the Finals, Marlise would finish 2nd and both will represent America in the Winmau World Masters in October.
Sandy would also have a good weekend winning 3 titles in the 301 Singles Pro-Shoot, Mixed Triples and Mixed Doubles. She also had 5 Top 4 finishes in 501 Singles, Cricket Singles, Thursday Blind Draw and twice in Ladies Doubles with fellow K-Girl Morgan, both times losing to the eventual winners. Morgan would also end up Top 4 in Mixed Doubles along with Top 8 finishes in 501 Singles and Cricket Singles.
Marlise also have a nice tournament winning Ladies Doubles 501 and finishing 2nd in Doubles Cricket. Paula Murphy flew up from Florida and won 501 Singles which is a BDO/WDF sanctioned event. She had four Top 8 finishes in Doubles Cricket, Singles Cricket, Mixed Triples and Mixed Doubles 501. Valerie Goad was also on hand earning a Top 8 finish in Mixed Doubles as well.
Bette was working through some discomfort this weekend in her last event before under going double knee replacement. She will rehabilitate this summer and plans to be ready to represent America in the World Cup in Turkey later this year. She teamed with Kay Hoover to earn Top 8 in Doubles Cricket. Bette also finished Top 8 in Triples and Kay was Top 8 in Singles 501.
Corrine Stockton won the ADO Area 1-3 National Qualifier in California to earn a spot in the ADO 501 National Championship this summer. She also found success in a local event as did Pam Briggs and Kirsten McCandless in Massachusetts.
