She was an American girl, raised on promises...

Tropical Tampa, Florida was the location for the World Darts Federation's 7th America's Cup. This event rotates yearly with the World Cup and Team USA has had quite a bit of success winning 5 of the previous 6 events.

Sandy Hudson was there and played well throughout the event. She lost her first team match against Brazil and then reeled off 20 consecutive wins to help the American team win the Gold Medal over Canada 8-2. Sandy's teammates were Tom Sawyer, Jim Widmayer and Brenda Roush, the team was captained by ADO President David Hascup.

Sandy also earned a Bronze Medal in Singles play, losing to the eventual winner JoAnne Luke of Canada. She represented her country and the Kryptonite Girls honorably. Since we stayed in Florida an extra day she was able to play in the first event of the Caribbean Cup now in it's 20th year. She drew John Beard of Florida and they made a nice run to the Semi-Finals of the Blind Draw.

In Mooresville, NC Lora Josey was on hand for the Hotshots Summer Shootout. She finished Top 8 in both Singles events and both Mixed Doubles events. In Ladies Doubles she was Top 4 in 501 and Top 8 in Cricket.
