
The country music capital of the world was the center of the American dart scene last weekend and the Kryptonite Girls traveled far and wide to play in the Music City Classic. This event is always one of the best managed and most popular tournaments in the country.
Paula Murphy had another great weekend showing the skill and consistency that has her atop the ADO National Rankings. On Friday she beat fellow K-girl Valerie Goad in the 301 Pro-Shoot. She also won Cricket Singles and finished Top 4 in Singles 501. She won Mixed Triples, finished 2nd in Cricket Doubles and Top 8 in 501 Doubles.
Valerie also played well, after taking 2nd in the 301 Pro Shoot, she made a run to the Finals in 501 Doubles with Morgan McCormack. She also finished Top 4 in the Ladies Blind Draw and Top 16 in 501 Singles. Morgan and Val made a long road trip from Texas, spending a lot of Mother-Daughter quality time together. Morgan was also Top 8 in the Ladies Blind Draw and finished Top 16 in both Singles events.
Kay Hoover was down from Ohio and won Ladies Doubles 501. She earned Top 8 finishes in Mixed Triples, Ladies Doubles Cricket and Singles Cricket.
Gloria Gutierrez returned from a small break to make it to the famed Music City Classic stage finishing 2nd in Mixed Triples. She also earned Top 8 in Ladies Singles Cricket.
Sandy Haas and Jennifer Carlton were there as well. Sandy earned Top 8 in the 301 Pro Shoot and Top 16 in Singles 501. Jennifer was playing her first event as a Kryptonite Girl and admitted she felt pressure too perform in the room that is usually one of the toughest in the country. She finished Top 4 in Ladies Doubles 501, Top 8 in the Ladies Blind Draw and in Mixed Triples. She also got to meet several of the girls for the first time.
In all seven players showed up and three K-girls ended up canceling for different reasons.
Bette Cunningham played a local Qualifier at the DPNY Tour Stop # 4 in New York and Candi Ellis competed in a Ladies Challenge Cup match with her Myrtle Beach teammates losing 15-9 to the Charleston, SC Ladies. Kirsten McCandless found success in a local Qualifier in the Minute Man Dart League in Massachusetts.
