Nancy Jo "Tigger" Mize - Margaret, Alabama
Nancy Jo is a talented veteran who is again playing some regional events while working around her top priority, her family.
She was born and raised in Conyers, GA and was first exposed to darts while attending Georgia State University. While waiting tables during her summer job some of the employees talked her into coming to this small bar behind the restaurant to throw some darts. She was quite amused by it all and found humor in the fact that there were leagues and magazines to cover the sport. But eventually they talked her into playing one of the guys there and she won. She was hooked then and the bar gave her a great place to develop her skills and meet other players. Nancy Jo easily adapted to the competition aspect of darts, having played sports her whole life and soon she joined the local league and began traveling to some regional tournaments. By 1995 she was teaming up with national stars and regional legends on a regular basis and was playing both steel tip and electronic dart events. She lived out of the area for a while and didn't play at all for three years, but ended up in Huntsville, AL where she again joined a league and slowly got back into the sport, by 2006 she was back to playing some regional events. She finished in the ADO Top 20 in 2007, reaching Nationals along the way before again taking some time off for the birth of her daughter. Craig, Nancy and Taylor live in Margaret, AL now, she is getting back into the tournament scene, staying pretty close to home for now and close to her priorities while still making time to play the game she is so passionate about. |
