Valerie "Valley Girl" Goad - Garland, Texas
Valerie is one of the fastest rising stars on the American dart tour and 2013 has proven to be a breakout year for her.
She was born in Warwick, Rhode Island and in 1980, at age 12, she moved to Salem, Virginia where she attended Salem High School and Virginia Western Community College.
She was first exposed to electronic darts in 2007 after meeting Glenn, her future husband and started playing steel tip darts in 2009. She soon gravitated to the more prestigious steel tip game and began playing tournaments shortly thereafter, winning her first singles event at the 2010 Greensboro Classic.
Valerie and her family moved to Garland, Texas last year, landing in a hot bed for darts in America. The move has served her well and she has developed her game to become one of the toughest players on the tour.
She has four grandchildren, two sons and a daughter and regular partner Morgan McCormack, who is also a nationally ranked dart player. Valerie works from home and also enjoys swimming and bowling.
